How to film your first video with just a phone

How to film your first video with just a phone

The biggest myth holding back Nigerian creators is the belief that you need high-end DSLR cameras and expensive ring lights to make videos people care about.

In reality, smartphone cameras today shoot stunning 4K and 1080p footage. What separates mediocre videos from viral ones comes down to three things: lighting, sound, and the first three seconds.

Position yourself facing a window or step outside during the golden hour (5:00 PM – 6:30 PM). Natural daylight beats artificial lights nine times out of ten. For clear audio, keep your phone within arm's reach or plug in a basic wired earphone with an inline mic.

Hook your viewers before they scroll. Don't start with 'Hey guys, welcome back to my channel.' Start right in the middle of the dance move, punchline, or styling process. Let your craft speak immediately.
